Job Opening: Postdoctoral Fellows (PhD in one of: Molecular Biology/Biochemistry)

POST-DOCTORAL FELLOW POSITION (Molecular Biology/Biochemistry), Computational Medicine Center: Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University (TJU), is now accepting applications for full-time employed postdoctoral student positions for the Computational Medicine Center at TJU. Applicants must have a Ph.D degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field. Familiarity with the field of non-coding RNAs and RNA interference and working experience in this area is a must. A strong publication record is a must. The ideal candidate should have working experience with laboratory techniques such as DNA purification, RNA extraction, Northern/Southern/Western blotting, transfection/transduction, RNAi/miRNA, siRNA design, PCR, RT-PCR, RACE, vector construction, site-directed mutagenesis, etc. Familiarity with technical computing software packages such as Matlab, R, etc. and with tools for data visualization, analysis and mining is a plus. Responsibilities will include research in the field of non-coding RNAs with a focus on the elucidation of the mechanisms underlying the onset and progression of disease.
