SOFTWARE ENGINEER/BIOINFORMATICIAN, Computational Medicine Center: Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University (TJU), is now accepting applications for full-time employed software engineer/bioinformatician positions for the Computational Medicine Center at TJU. Applicants must, at a minimum, have a B.Sc. degree in one of Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or related field. The ideal candidate should possess working experience in Software Engineering. Working experience with C/C++, MPI, Java, Perl, HTML, Apache/Tomcat, as well as with database management systems such IBM DB2, Oracle RDBMS, PostgreSQL etc. is a must. Working knowledge of the Linux/*nix, OSX, and Windows operating systems is a must. Systems administration experience is a plus. Working experience in high performance computing is a plus. Familiarity with technical computing packages such as Matlab, R, etc. is also a plus. Responsibilities will include the development of computational infrastructure to support the analysis of very large biological and medical datasets, and also to support basic research in the elucidation of the mechanisms underlying the onset and progression of disease.
