Disease Research

Our team’s research is focused on improving the detection and treatment of diseases including Triple-Negative Breast Cancer, Pancreatic Cancer, Lung Cancer, Asthma, Glaucoma, and more.

Areas of Exploration

Below are some areas we focus on around diseases.

We discovered numerous, previously unsuspected regulatory molecules. These molecules control the levels of proteins in the cell. We are developing new approaches to understand these currently uncharacterized molecules. >Explore
New Molecules
We found that various combinations of the molecules that we discovered have great potential as powerful predictors of disease state or patient survival. We are designing new diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers for several diseases. >Explore
New Biomarkers
We have been exploring what is currently uncharted territory. This requires that we invent and develop new experimental and computational tools. >Explore
New Tools
We have strong evidence that the regulatory molecules that we discovered and their effects are specific to tissues, diseases, sex, race/ethnicity, population origin, or age. We are working on understanding the events set in motion by these molecules to better understand diseases. >Explore

Precision Medicine

Disease prevention, disease diagnosis and disease treatment should take into account attributes that are specific to the patient, such as sex, race/ethnicity, age. We discovered that these attributes and, possibly additional ones, shape the production of previously unknown molecules with important but currently uncharacterized roles. We are developing a computational and experimental framework to help us characterize these new molecular players and their targets.
