Lily Tayag

Lily Tayag is a PhD student in the Biochemistry, Structural, and Molecular Biology program in Dr. Yohei Kirino’s lab. She earned a B.S. in Health Sciences (2024) and an M.S. in Biotechnology (2025) from Thomas Jefferson University, where she investigated tRNA modifications in bacterial systems under Dr. Ya-Ming Hou. Her current work focuses on how tRNA modifications regulate tRNA half biogenesis and how dysregulated tRNA halves contribute to disease. Her broader interests lie at the intersection of RNA biology, cellular biology, and immunology.
