Thanatcha (Kwan) Khunkhet

Kwan is a senior at University of Rochester (member of class of 2017), double majors in Data Science and Computational Biology. She grew up in Chiang Mai, Thailand and came to the US since graduated from high school where she was granted a full scholarship. Kwan is interested in using data mining and machine learning technique to explore biological data. She is a founding member and a director of workshops and event organizing team for Data Science Undergraduate Council. Besides actively participating in data science community, she also dedicates her time to teaching. She tutors mathematics, computer science, and chemistry, and volunteers leading a weekly data science workshop. She joined UR women’s club squash team in 2013 and has been playing the top rank for the team. When Kwan has free time, she enjoys hiking, working out, experimenting healthy recipes, and learning some web and mobile app development skills.
